Light Sport News was born from a conversation between my uncle, Tom Wittman, and me as we discussed his continued desire to fly aircraft and my interest in learning to pilot airplanes. That conversation took place on a day when he flew us in a Piper Cherokee Archer II over central Wisconsin and talked about the new classification of “Light Sport Aircraft” (LSA) and how it might help both of us to achieve our future flying goals.
We intend to use Light Sport News to document our journeys into the field of Light Sport Aviation and in the process will work to build a great resource on the subject for our fellow flight enthusiasts and pilots. We’ll feature industry news, detail our experiences in acquiring our licenses, build a list of companies and organizations in the Light Sport Aviation industry and much more.We’d love to hear from you as well.
